A Bit Of This & That

WOW ! has it ever been hot , humid and dry here in Southwestern Ontario .  The early mornings have been cooler so Miggs and I have been enjoying our walks but come late morning early afternoon FEW ! it is hot .

We had a wicked rainstorm last Friday night that gave us some welcomed rain .

But that has been it for the rain since and everything is dry , we have a heat and humidity warning in affect now as well as water usage is to be limited .  A typical summer for us .

Papa often plays with Miggs when he gets home from work but this time I decided to get photos .

Miggs goes in her pool sometimes but prefers the sprinkler as you all have seen her in action in the sprinkler many times lol !

The ever allusive Northern Flicker early one cloudy morning ,  who actually sat on this pole for some time and didn't take off at the sight of me with my camera but he only let me get so close with a warning every time I snuck closer and closer lol !

As our big old Manitoba maple tree that we had lost part of and trimmed the rest to save it  slowly regrows new branches there isn't much shade like there was this side of it so I helped shade it for the birdies  for now so they can feast in the cool .

Over the weekend it was cool enough later in the evening to enjoy a nice fire in our Chiminea and lounge on the patio .

Well that's about it for us for now . Not much going on really as the heat , humidity and lack of rain continues and  we seek coolness in doors for the afternoons   and watch something on our new TV either on PVR or Netflix build right in the TV . It is one of the new Samsung smart 4K  TV’s  a 50 inch   it is soo nice clear and links to our computers it is amazing  and is compatible with all our Samsung tablets and phones and Papas computer or lap top,  cool eh?  ! We are getting quite modern and techy now I said to Papa with a giggle lol ! PSST ! he has always been a techy geek   as well  a handy man to , lucky me eh? lol !

Until next time , stay cool !

We've got the humidity really out in force today... and me without my water bottle!

Miggs is such a cutie... and so is that little rabbit.

Beautiful pictures! and that Miggs, oh I could just squeeze him. Will you give him a hug for me? Poppy plays with Eli like that. It's so funny. Makes you feel sorry for the poor dogs tied outside that get no attention. We see a lot of that in this county. It breaks my heart.

I could do with a techy geek to help me out! The pictures after the rain are beautiful! xx

I'm only out in the mornings too, it's just too hot in the afternoons. The hosta are doing really well as are the drought tolerant plants. I'm only watering the veggies. Fingers crossed for some rain tonight and tomorrow, but chance of thunder storms doesn't always mean rain.

It is hot here too, but not as bad as in many other places, thankfully. Glad your lovely flowers are doing well, Elaine. Miggs and Papa do have fun even in the heat. We have not replaced our "dumb" TVs with any of the newer ones yet. Glad you are enjoying yours.
